Can we realistically make it to the Conference Finals or NBA Finals in the next 5 years?

I want to have hope because we have a lot of potential on the team. We lost in the short run with the AD trade but we can try to win in the long run.

My main concern is just how dangerous the West will be next season. Lakers are Lakers, Clippers wanting revenge, Warriors being healthy again, other potential teams like the Mavericks and Suns, etc.

Pelicans will be back in eastern conference soon..

Per Shaq .. His sources say Las Vegas is going to get a team soon. Then the move from Memphis to Seattle is next. They just spent 100s millions on key arena.
This should push us back in the much easier Eastern Conference.

all of this isn’t happening within 5 years. Maybe not even 10

In five years, LeBron, Kawhi, Harden, and Steph will all be past their primes, and the Western Conference will look very different. Will new stars eclipse them? For sure. So everything depends on the continued development of Zion and BI, and whether we're able to find a third star to go with them. But, yeah, that's very easy to see happening, although it certainly isn't guaranteed.

If Zion becomes giannis and if bi becomes Durant then yes, but probably not. You have teams like Denver,Utah, and Dallas who are stacked with young talent and are miles ahead of us in the development process. It all depends on the development of Zion and bi, and the players we bring in. Also they better hit an effin home run on this coaching hire or that could set them back another few years
