You can thank David Griffin for that. He decided to get rid of Lonzo for 3 cents on the dollar and he had no contingency plan other to pray that NAW wouldn’t play like a retard.

I was mostly in the camp that thought letting Ball go was probably the right move. I don’t think he’s worth what he’s being paid.
However given our complete inability to sign FA talent and draft prospects seemingly stuck in that fringe lottery no man’s land - it’s hard to see how we do better than just retaining Lonzo.

halfway into year1 both kuminga gsw pick7 and ziaire memphis10 from jv for adams and swap for 17 tm3 have had starts due to starters injuries or cv19.
neither embarrassed themselves. neither team is disappointed.
both started season on bench.
neither will start ahead of injured vet guys upon vets 100% healthy return.
