Just being in his presence will rub off on players. Greatness can do that.

There was a time when I dismissed such ideas.

That changed on a Monday night in 2006.

Since then, I buy into the passion and greatness aspects. Just seeing greatness and how it is really forged will inspire some players, no doubt. They will love the way it makes them feel about the game and the team.

I liked that idea. Use the college model: have the same mascot, colors, etc. New Orleans Football, New Orleans Basketball, etc.

Interesting idea. I guess St. Louis had that for a while with the Cardinals (football and baseball) and New York had it with the Giants (football and baseball before baseball moved to SF). You still sometimes hear Eli's team called the New York football Giants.

The biggest problem I see with it is reduced merchandise sales. You could use the same t-shirt and hat to support both teams...

The jerseys (some of their biggest sellers) would obviously be different. Also, each team would have a different brand of apparel as Nike is contracted to the NFL and adidas the NBA. It could still work though.
