When listening all the way through from Francine to Down Brownie, RGM is their overall best effort. There are better songs from other albums, but this is one that must be listened to start to finish to fully appreciate. At least for my ears anyway.

RGM is definitely one of their best albums. I have a hard time putting it ahead of Deguello, but damn....both are great!

As far as start to finish greatness, Deguello is my #2, behind Rio Grande Mud. But you are spot on, both are great.
