Absolutely appreciate both bands, but I'm going with Pink Floyd. Gilmour is a huge influence on my guitar playing.

I agree. If I could only choose one band to listen to the rest of my life it would be Pink Floyd, I'd never look back and never regret the decision.

Zepp. Even though everyone would agree that they are way overplayed in most places, they still appeal to me greatly. I tried, but could never get into PF.

Zeppelin is great and I have all their albums and listen to them occasionally. Pink Floyd though....they changed me and how I viewed the world and my place in it. No artists other than Tool and Sigur Ros have had that kind of effect on me. Floyd wins this contest easily. Ask me to choose between Tool and Floyd, and I can't do it.

only one of them recorded the lyrics 'you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking and racing around to come up behind you again. the sun is the same in the relative way, but you're older and shorter of breath and one day closer to death', so i'm going with that band

Lyrics to "Time" are my favorite lyrics of any song.

quote:

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

Led Zeppelin. They have a wider range of songs, IMO, and they have songs for every mood I'm in. While I really like PF, I have to be in a certain mood to listen to them.
