What's the Music Board's opinion on this cat? He's one of the more underrated rappers out there right now, his Radioactive album was legit as shite.

I was a fan around the time Pop the Trunk came out...Trunk Musik 0-60 was unique. Radioactive was garbage and then he had that moment on LSU's campus and I've disliked him ever since.

those are my favorite songs on trunk musik, i was real hyped up for radioactive since he'd just signed to a bigger label and it was unlistenable.

He was invited by LSU (I blame the school as well, terrible choice) to perform at Groovin' on the Grounds, an annual concert on campus. Lupe Fiasco was the headliner and Yela opened. I was late, but apparently there was a "no cursing" clause in the contract - Yelawolf allegedly found out minutes before he took the stage and subsequently cursed a lot (not the bad part) and then said "ROLL TIDE MOTHERfrickER" or something to that effect.
I hate it because I love LSU and attend the school...but I also KIND OF respect him because I'd yell "Geaux Tigers" in Tuscaloosa.

So is Lil Wayne but you'd think he's the greatest rapper of all time reading this board. I wouldn't know a Yelawolf song if I heard it but I'd bet $100 he'd be considered one of the GOAT if he was from Louisiana like Lil Wayne is.

Sure lil wayne isn't great anymore, but a few years back he was the biggest rapper in the world. Yelawolf isn't considered anything close to that even by people in Alabama

Box Chevy pt 3 is one of my favorite rap songs ever, but pt 2 gets stuck in my head for days. That chorus and slow delivery just works like a charm.
I liked a lot of his collaborations with Travis Barker, wish I would've made time to see them live the videos looked like a fun show.
I wasn't crazy about Radioactive. I downloaded return of trunk muzik and it was better imo.
