XTC - Skylarking

Could this be one of the more overlooked albums of the past 25+ years?
Top to bottom this album is near perfect. The perfect blend of alt rock & pop. The album tells a story and you can almost float along with it. 5/5 on The Cable Guy's scale.
Highlights in no particular order:
Summer's Cauldron
Ballad for a Rainy Day
Earn Enough for Us
Dear God
Highly recommend listening to this album if you have any taste or knowledge of good music.
What are you guys opinions of this album and band?

Big fan of this album. The whole Summer's Cauldron > Grass at the beginning of the album is fantastic. Big Day is another awesome song you didn't list.
The whole thing reminds me of an 80's Beatles album.
It's the only XTC I've ever listened to so if you've got any other recommendations by them I'm all ears.

The man who sailed around his soul was my favorite off this album. Tough call between skylarking and Oranges & Lemons though. Listened to both a good bit but my favorite song from them is actually Peter Pumpkin Head.

This is a band that is overlooked, period. If you liked Skylarking, then you need to listen to Black Sea.

Honestly, skylarking is sadly the only one I've listened to front to back and I have a few of their other albums. I'll probably listen tomorrow. This forum is a great means to share and rekindle great bands
