Gordon Lightfoot always makes me think of the beach. There is NO LOGICAL reason for this. I assume my parents played him on the 8-track or he was on heavy AM rotation during a trip to Holly Beach or Crystal Beach when I was young.

Anyway, I prefer If you Could Read My Mind. It just sounds like a very good soft rock love song, but you have to listen to realize its not.

I got a free tix to see him at the centroplex about 6 or so years ago... man it was so boring!! I ended up leaving so I didnt fall asleep

I don't know that I would call it a perfect song, but it is high on the list as far as story songs go. Also a lot of fun to play on a 12-string acoustic. Great chords.
