ELO is legend in my mind. Glad to see you enjoy their genre. To this day (IMO) there is no group that sings in sync with an orchestra like ELO did in the seventies. Plus, they sing with meaning...

Thats right. ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) means songs were accompanied by an orchestra. Not a band. An orchestra!! Many songs were very rock and upbeat. Many songs were just upbeat. Many songs were beautiful heart touching songs.

No other group in the last hundred years (beyond that, what do I know) approaches this "group" with such musical diversity and orchestra "band" finesse as ELO (IMO).

bullshite, you say? Yea, maybe. But I welcome any comparison of ELO to any other singer group that accompanied a 50+ member full orchestra and was able to sell so many singles and albums. Any year, any dollar amount. Let's hear from you.

I had the orig. 1976 vinyl "A New World Record". Loved it. Lost it in a 1982 hurricane near Houston in my rent house when water level peaked at 7' in my rental house.

Great album. Played all songs over and over in the late 70s, etc.

Years later, I bought the ELO 1990 3 CD box set "Afterglow".

Amazing. I highly recommend it.

CD 1 (light violet color) has songs from '73 - '75.

CD 2 (light green color) has songs from '75 - '79.

CD 3 (weird kinda' light pink color) has songs from '79 - '86.
