Is he still decent in concert? He's playing in NOLA at the house of blues. Is he worth going see?

He and Keith Richards are going to die on the same day within hours of each other. Go to see him while you still have the chance.

That made me laugh...

I guess its worth seeing if you never have, but I have not been impressed (live) over the last 20 years or so...

I've seen the Stones, McCartney, Plant, and Ringo in the last 5 years and all were good.

You won't find a bigger Willie Nelson fan than me. And if you want to go for the experience and to say you saw him, go for it. But don't expect a great show from the singing aspect of it. He talks through a lot of the lyrics and way ahead of the beat in a lot of cases...he always did that to an extent but so much so now that it is a distraction. I get that the guy is 83 years old so you would expect a bit of a decline. But the ticket price doesn't reflect it.

Seeing him is about the same as seeing Dylan. I've seen both and love both but you see them more for the songwriting/novelty of it. You don't get much other than them playing, singing, and as someone else said, talking. I never saw either in their heyday but rather 10 years or so ago.

I'll be at the show in Nola. Saw George Jones several years ago in Lafayette. Wasn't a great show but still glad I got to see him live.

Actually me and my friends were secretly hoping he wouldn't show (No Show Jones).

No save your money and buy the cd....
Nothing against Willie..but so many of these older rock and roll singers need to quit doing live shows...they are awful and the ticket prices are way too high

Don't listen to these naysayers comparing him to dylan, He puts on a GREAT show. Classics, covers. Only thing is his setlist this time around hasn't varied much, so if you wanna see if you like the songs hes playing you'll have a good idea by checking on setlist.fm

Saw him at the majestic in San Antonio not too long ago and it was excellent. You would not think hes as old as he is. So much heart when he plays waylon songs

I had a co-worker see him a few weeks ago in Lake Charles and said he was f'ing awesome. Said you could really hear the age in his voice, but he played a long show and was amazing.
