HOB’s lineups have been lack luster for the past couple of years. Aren’t they owned by the same people?

Fillmore is more than twice the size. They're not competing for the same bands.

god i would hope so .... one look at the HOB online calendar tells me everything i need to know about the venue's current state. 
terrible lineup and the calendar on the website is a visual disaster. Even worse than the Varsity's.
Live nation will be able to funnel in enough decent draws for both i'm sure to be sustainable.

HOB also does a ton of private events.
