Why does this forum not allow for hot links to YouTube or other music media?

Not sure I've ever seen a music forum that didn't allow embedded tunes.
If it's because it would cause the posts to load slower, I don't think it's worse about that than gifs, and they're all over these boards.

Chicken tried it a few years ago if I remember correctly. Not sure what the issue was but never tried again.
