Great point. One person mentioned that Mariah had a greater vocal range, and this is true, but range isn't everything. There is a great clip--that I'm too lazy to look up, but could probably be found pretty easily--of them both singing together on stage. It may have been an awards show, not sure. Anyway, Whitney clearly used this opportunity to forever illustrate who the better singer was, and her point was well made. You could barely even hear Mariah's voice. Whitney's voice was just....big.

This actually isn't true at all. A common misconception. Watch the documentary on Whitney. She was way WAY worse into drugs than Bobby and was already far down that path before she ever met him.

Yep, everyone always blames Bobbie's sketchy arse but Whitney "crack is for poor people" Houston already had drug problems.

That documentary is really good, but very dark. Like hauntingly dark. Whitney's brothers address the Bobby/Whitney drug issue quite candidly. They basically laughed at the idea that Bobby was the bad influence. They say that Bobby couldn't keep up with any of them.
Whitney was worse into drugs way before people knew the extent of it. And at the end, she was essentially a professional coke snorter. She would do nothing else...for months.
