Among the guitar great we hear about where does JPerry rank? Some of Aerosmith's deeper tracks are amazing listening to what he put out

No 2 people will ever agree on top guitarist. I could possibly underestimate Perry, because I simply hated Aerosmith, or should I say Tyler so much. Nothing against Perry, but so many earlier guitarists I simply rate higher. I will always prefer earlier guys like Alvin Lee, Clapton/Page/Beck, Hendrix, Johnny Winter, Rory Gallagher, Leslie West & Italian guitarist, Bambi Fossati, among others.

He's the second best guitarist in Aerosmith.

I dont know where Whitford starts/ends and Perry blends in but together they have some incredibly funky hard rock riffs.

Joe Perry is incredibly underrated. He’s a fantastic blues rock guitarist. He was one of my main influences when I first picked up the guitar.

I really like his style of playing. His guitar work along with Brad Whitford on the album Rocks is phenomenal. To me that was the best album the band recorded.

Not a bad song on the album.

Two songs in particular made me an Aerosmith fan.

Last Child & Home Tonight are two of the best rock songs ever. Great riffs and great lyrics

Last Child

Home Tonight

The opening riff of Last Child is so good, and the bluesy solo on Home Tonight is awesome !

Great tune.. The production sounds thin, even for the day. I was never a huge FAN, but I like them in small doses.. Like this.

But man, I would have a better, more nostalgic view of the band IF.. They just all went away when they were supposed to.

This is all Run DMC's fault.. This was settled. It was over...they were gone...and then we have to hear "Love in an Elevator", "Dude looks like a Lady"... and it seemed to just get worse... Just hard to watch...

I'm in total agreement with what you just said. Their early stuff was so good, then the became corporate rock.
