Where Are They Now? Bonnie Tyler Edition

Watching some of the Midnight Special videos last week got me thinking about the music I "grew up with" and I decided to do some digging. What the hell happened to Bonnie Tyler?
Things I learned that surprised me:
1. Bonnie Tyler is British
2. There's a whole generation of people who didn't realize she was the first to sing "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and that it came out in 1983... No - The dance version was not the first version.
Anywho... Bonnie Tyler went back overseas in the mid and late 80s where her commercial success continued while it faded over here. She'd give Hasselhoff a run for his money in Germany.
At some point she had to have surgery on her vocal chords (problems with nodules) which resulted in her trademark raspy voice becoming even raspier, but I assure you... she can still belt one out BIG TIME.

Holding Out For A Hero (I think this is pretty incredible, actually)

I remember "It's a Heartache," and her cover of "Have You Ever Seen the Rain." She wasn't too bad looking.

Me too... and for some reason all her songs made me think maybe there was a C&W or gospel crossover there. Never in a million years would I have thought she was from the UK.
