Hair Metal as a genre has not stood the test of time.
quote:Of course it is. It's just pop. Good melodies and good times - with some high-level instrumentation and virtuosity thrown in.
Bon Jovi has some fun party songs, but none of it is good music.

What has stood the test of time is rock that has been miscategorized as hair metal.
Anyone with big hair and spandex in that era was considered Hair Metal, but I don’t consider Van Halen, Motley Crue and many others as Hair Metal.
Poison may be the quintessential hair metal band and they are mostly terrible.
I loved them at the time though.

It's weird to me that people care so much about image. There's tons of pop songs from the 70s that are great and memorable, but which feature artists dressed in preposterous outfits. WHO GIVES A frick.

Dislike them all you want, but 130 million in world wide album sales is impressive.
I prefer the ‘B’ side tracks.
- Social Disease
- Wild in the streets
- Blood on Blood
- Wild as the Wind
- Stick to your Guns
- Edge of a Broken Heart
Cheesy rock, done well.
