What's the story on Harvest Moon Listening Room in P-Ville? Anybody been?

Seems cool to have something like this in Ascension, but right now it looks like an abandoned house. Anybody know the background? Ever been?

I'm playing there next month. I know nothing about it.

So this makes, what, the fourth listening room in the BR area?
Is BR on pace to become the listening room capital of the world?

Red Dragon Listening Room: boomers and gen-x'ers listening to pretentious singer/songwriters
Henry Turner Jr. Listening Room: old black people
Dyson House Listening Room: haven't been yet, but sounds like a full time Red Dragon
Harvest Moon Listening Room: the dozen people in AP who think this will be a working concept in Ascension Parish.

Where exactly is this?
HWY 42 in Prairieville, not far off airline highway. Kinda near gold's gym, etc.

I don't now man... I'm a BR transplant with a little hipster in me and an affinity for live music. There are a lot of others in AP who have the same background. If this is done right it could be cool for folks like me not to have to go all the way to BR to hipster out. And it's BYOB. They really need to to something about the outside appearance though. It looks terrible from the road. I haven't been but curious if others on here have.

It will likely be a fun hangout for about a dozen or so people. It just will never be a profitable venture out there, but that's okay.
Ascension Parish, like the rest of the capital region, views all social events like they would a tailgate. Tailgates aren't about football, food, music, alcohol, or anything like that. They're about conversation. Everything else is a setting or a lubricant. Most people in the area view any night "out" like a tailgate. The music isn't the focal point, it's background noise, a soundtrack. They want something fun, familiar, and accessible which isn't going to steal the show. That's why they go see cover bands.
People who want live original music aren't there just to socialize, they're there for the music. There just aren't enough of these people in the area making music and patronizing venues for a concept like this to be commercially successful in the location it's in.

the owner is an accomplished local musician ..he is a talented and very cool guy. at first he was going to open a good co-op and then changed plans to a listening room. give it some time he will have some good music come thru. I am a little biased I have known him for 14years or so but at least he is in it for the right reasons.
