Ok, I was having trouble reconciling the guy in the link's profile picture with the girl singing--thinking it was some kind of playlist.

Same. I get a lot of Chino from Deftones phrasing in the vocals. The beginning of one song on the new EP is eerily reminiscent to the opening of Nirvana’s “In Bloom.” Yeah, it’s pretty derivative, but it hits me in the right places.
