Some really good ones mentioned so far. I love Day Tripper but it is post - Rubber Soul. Two that I would add would be Please Please Me and She's A Woman.
I always have trouble narrowing down a favorite, on any topic, but if I had to it would probably be I've Just Seen A Face, which oddly enough I really came to truly appreciate on Wings Over America. GREAT version!!!
I can say for certain that one of my probably three favorite Beatles songs of all time is on Rubber Soul. In My Life.

I just can't consider Yesterday to be a Beatles song. It's all Macca. George Martin thru some strings on there to hide the fact.
Otherwise, there's just too damn many great songs pre-Rubber Soul to pick just one. We don't play many covers, but I slip You Can't Do That into a lot of gigs when my bandmates aren't looking. The G# to C#m bridge part cleverly disguises that it's nothing but a blues/rock 1-4-5.

Listen,
Oooh aaaah Oooh,
Do You Want To Know A Secret,
Oooh aaaah Oooh,
Do you promise not to tell,
Whoaah oooo,
Closer,
Oooh aaaah Oooh,
Let me whisper in your ear,
Oooh aaaah Oooh,
Say the words you long to hear,
I'm in love with you,
Wooohooo ooooo.
Simple chords, simple lyrics--does the job well.

It's all McCartney but the question was "Beatles songs Pre-Rubber Soul"
all beatles songs are credited to Lennon/McCartney regardless of involvement. That makes Yeseterday a Beatles song as much as "Tomorrow Never Knows" is.

Anybody else think "Day Tripper" is the Beatles' musical rewrite of "Pretty Woman" by Roy?

One of these is not like the others if we go by Lennon/Macca bylines.

The entire " Help ! " album is some of their best and most under-rated work.

This question is too difficult.
Making no sense, I'd have to say most of 'em.

If I Fell
Brings back so many memories to me as a young kid, and maybe for that reason my favorite pre-Rubber Soul song. But I bought so many of their 45's at the time, so many great tunes to pick from starting with "Love Me Do".
