I didn't mind Battle Studies. There are some songs on there that are dumpster material, but I like a lot of them!

It's not poppy like his other stuff that why you don't like it probably. I don't think it's his best but it's good. John mayer is great and get undeserved hate because he is a douche.

I actually do not like his pop albums. I wouldn't call either album I listed as pop.

The problem I had in his first listen is the little studio additions they add to some songs

It's a great album, behind continuum but ahead of the rest

I'm bumping this to concur on this point. I just listened to his new album, and I think this song is amazing. Quite possibly his very best.
