I'll probably get slammed for this but Eric Carmen had/has an amazingly smooth voice and great range. He fronted the Raspberries and later had a solo career.
There's no doubt his vocals alone barred 99.9999% of bar bands from playing his music and doing it justice.

Don't laugh but for pure vocal control and vibrato it has to be Slim Whitman, dude's singing literally brought down an alien invasion in the movie "Mars Attacks!"
