and I have gone down the open G rabbit hole. Suggestions on some good open G songs to learn? I just always get stuck experimenting.

Yeah those are good suggestions, used to do those a lot.
Looking for more melodic, folksy type stuff. Open G is really good for that.

Probably should have been more clear in my OP.

Thanx for suggesting those, will have to work on them tomorrow, I've already overdone it today.
Open G is such a great tuning to play around with, time can get away from you fast. My fingers haven't hurt like this in a while.

When I obsess on a song and play those same progressions over and over I burn out my fingers pretty easily.

I came up with a couple of pretty nice sounding pieces, and just kept at it, probably 6 hours of playing. I don't do that very often, more like never.
