I'm givin a review of Fretshack's Carondelet P90 telecaster pickups after 8 hours of test driving: Dang these things are good!
No kidding, the voicing of these is spectacular. The tone and articulation on the lower strings, beats anything I've ever played, but they are good for any way you want to play. Smooth as silk strumming, beautiful tones on the higher frets and everything in between.
I usually use my fingers and a thumbpick, but the tone and snap on these top strings is good enough that I've been playing without the thumbpick the last couple of hours.
I wish I could be more descriptive and sophisticated in my description, but it is what it is.
Oh yeah, you can still get close to a Telly sound on the bridge pickup too.
Also, Fret didn't ask me to do this, I paid for these and they were off the shelf, I just wanted to let yall know. I bet a set of these in a Strat would be off the charts...or a Nashville Telly.

Is the same guitar I suggested you put a P90 into?

No, I think that was one of the thinlines that I still aint finished.
I only recently thought about putting any work into this guitar, it's a Squier. After having it around a bit though, it's really good, and I really like it. Somebody had scraped all the original logos off and put a fake fender sticker on the headstock.
After taking all of the features into consideration( almost standard poplar body thickness, string through bridge and body, 1 piece, highly figured fatter feeling, laser straight, 22 fret maple neck with great fretwork, perfect action, 2 string trees, really good tuners and a humbucker rout for the neck pickup and the wiring rout that goes from the neck rout to the control cavity) I'm positive it is a Squier Standard Telecaster, made at the Samick factory in Indonesia in the 90s.
Really great guitars and hard to come across. I even sold this guitar once, the guy never paid me though and the thing made it's way back to me after a couple of years, still in great condition. It had been in the back of a girl's closet. It's an absolute wonder, that it ever found it's way back out.
It's a shame that the dummy who left it at the pawnshop scraped off the headstock logo and serial numbers and tried to make a fake Fender. He had to have gotten less than 50 bucks for it, because I bought it with a hardshell fender case, out the door for 100 bucks. I sold the case for that, I fixed the wiring and put a new MOP pickguard on it. So I had 13 dollars in this great Telecaster... then I saw Fret's demo from the Nashville music show and I knew what to do with this 13 dollar guitar.

Wow. Great story. Like finding a Shelby Cobra in an old lady's garage.

well..not quite that good, but it's a hell of a telly now, for a little over 300 bucks.
Really though, almost all of my favorite guitars have a bit of a story with how I got them.
Guitar Stories, might be a pretty good thread on here.

Ben Foshee. Killed in China, but his body was brought back for burial.
Apparently, because his tombstone reads, "He flew for China" it is sometimes desecrated by people who don't know better.

Yeah, most people don't really know history.
