I've found myself visiting 1`st Wave on my XM dial more and more lately. I've enjoyed the return to it.
What happened to this sound? It's basically non existant today.

Do you mean New Wave? "Wave" sounds like some ambient sound effects muzak.
If you're talking about Synth shite I can't help you.
If you're talking about NW/power pop/garage band revival there is plenty of that around. It doesn't sell or get played on the radio, but it does exist. Try the Underground Garage channel on Sirius/XM.

It is still very much alive. It just doesnt get the same mainstream play. Check out Twin Shadow or Drab Majesty or Mirror Gazer. Also, look for the Miami Nights albums.

I am aware. That sound you are referring to is still duplicated.
Tune in Sirius 1st Wave (33) tonight at 8 pm for a darker side of what you are describing.

If you’re talking mopevvave, the “w” is replaced with two v’s back to back.
