Was checking out one of the Telecaster Elites yesterday..

Beautiful guitar, but what I really liked, is the switch in the volume knob, that muddies up the sound.
It only works when the pick up switch is in the middle position. I'm thinking that it just changes the wiring circuit from series to parallel.
Has anybody made this modification on their telly? Just curious how it worked.
I may still end up getting that one, I really liked the color and finish, but am wondering if this mod, might be worth doing on one of my other guitars.

Looks like Fender just rebranded the higher end stuff as "Ultra" this week with new models. If you get one, make sure they give you a good discount since this is now an old model.

Yeah, it's on clearance, so it's a couple of hundred off. I will need to put it on layaway since it's this close to Christmas, otherwise if I was paying cash, I could probably do even a bit better.
It's a beautiful guitar with the Aquamarine flame top.
