Site is legit; was formerly run by Clear Channel.. but no idea on the difference between what they'd offer for venues and colleges.

It's just different now, there are 3x as many festivals, and some are three times as large as voodoo. You can't compare it to other big fest. The voodoo audiences' musical preference spectrum is getting wider, and it's harder for them to keep up with only four stages.
Earlybird tix for voodoo are almost half price($99), most other fest take 25$ off.
Voodoo is a small fest, and It's pretty easy to get a good spot at any stage. Try that at ACL or Coachella, or even buku or jazz fest for that matter

Average ticket price is over $100 and they sell 40-50,000 tickets so that's at least $4-5 million in ticket sales alone. Plus they're making money on concession sales, parking, tshirts, etc.
