If you listen to it on headphones, it is simply brilliant IMO.

I'm a big Stone Temple Pilots fan. I believe they're criminally underrated and the band of their era whose music has best withstood the test of time. "Trippin'..." is a great tune on a mighty fine album.
As for the solo, it takes a talented guitarist to craft a solo that suits the feel of the song and compliments the rhythm guitar track. I like those type guitar solos way more than pointless shredding. Dean DeLeo is awfully good at that and it shows on this tune.

Love the song and the band. It's a solid solo IMO, but top 20 all time, not a chance.

"Tiny Music" is an often overlooked album that boasts some real gems. "Big Bang Baby" and "Lady Picture Show" hold their own with the rest of the Pilots' catalog, in my view. All the music videos from this record are top-shelf, too. It may have been Scott Weiland's peak; he's stylish as hell in all three clips. The dude's presentation was on lock; rivaled Bowie to some extent.
