Tried out a used '23 Squier Affinity Telecaster yesterday. I was impressed.

Pickups and switch/pots are crap ( I have all that stuff), but it was a nice little guitar.
This model has the string through body and the belly cut. Very comfortable to play. The fretboard was great, frets as well. Olympic White. Not a scratch on it.
The neck seemed a bit fatter than earlier Squier Affinity models too.
I'll probably buy it this week, if somebody else doesn't.
Does anybody know what type of rout these have for the neck pickup?

Most modern non-vintage RI Fender and Squier T-styles are routed for neck position H under the pickguard.

That's really a positive.

I have a Squier Jaguar bass and Squier Strat that I've enjoyed playing. Maybe I'll actually get them properly setup one day. (I honestly probably wouldn't even notice the difference.) I do wish I hadn't bought a bass with active pickups, though, because I always forget to take the battery out.

It doesn't turn off when you unplug?

He's probably got a short in the #4 capacitor.

It does, but I don't always remember to unplug it. It's just an extra annoyance for no discernible gain to me.
