Some of you just don't like to have fun? Maybe it's fantasy. Musicians with a flair for the dramatic. I could see the appeal for someone with a serious fascination with a specific act.

at what point is the original band a tribute band?

was page/coverdale a tribute band? how about lynyrd skynyrd? can you say you saw them, or their tribute band?

i dont see how it is that much different. right now ozzy is the only member of his band from the randy era. i wouldnt feel bad about saeeing an ozzy cover band if the can play the songs like he did from bark at the moon. sabra cadabra is a PERFECT black sabbath cover band. there is no chance i get to see the originals live and definitely not at full force.

if the cover bands are really doing the songs accurate, i dont see where there is a dropoff.

Beezy, the misfits are their own tribute band. jerry is the only original member.

well i guess he wasnt the "original" member, but its as close as you can get... and then whatever bastardization hes doing under the name of the misfits is really not something anyone is too proud of.

off subject, i listened to all three down records in a row today and im amazed every time i hear them how good of a band they were.

So you mean like Zoso? I like seeing them from time to time. Closest thing to Led Zep that I'll get to see.
This. They have done an excellent job of emulating the Led Zep band members IMO. I love seeing them. Unfortunately for us young ones, this is indeed the closest we can get to the action if we like good music from the days of old
