Watched this on Netflix yesterday. I remember there being some mayhem when it happened but was unaware of how big of a shitshow it was. It really showcased the angst and anger of GenX. And highlighted in stark relief the difference between Boomers/GenXers. I would have much preferred attending the original in 1969.

It's pretty amazing that someone could watch this and come away with that take.
As far as the original Woodstock is concerned, it happened a year before I was born but it seems like nothing more than a Boomer/Hippie fairy tale.
Even watching the long, boring documentary as a kid, it was hard to buy into the hype. Brown acid aside, I'd be willing to bet that there was at least as many sexual assaults at the original Woodstock as there were in 99.

Pretty much a mess. But is was expertly done compared to the Celebration Of Life Rock Festival in Pointe Coupee Parish way back in 1971. That was a smelly, hot, muddy feces-laden disaster.

Haven't watched the documentary yet, but I still remember the shitshow unfolding in real time while watching it on the PPV I ordered. Obviously we've heard about alot of horrific stuff after it ended, but I could see just enough on the PPV to make me think "I'm SO glad I'm not there"...

I felt that way seeing the lineup. One shitty Nu Metal band after another, with crappy acts like RHCP, Jewel, and Sheryl Crow to pull in anyone who wasn't into the Nu Metal crap.

Should have been a free show if they were charging that much for concessions..
and if not, they shouldn't have taken people's water and food.
Id have left after day 1. If I am surrounded by 50,000+ girls and can't get any on day 1, it just wasn't meant to happen. And I wouldnt have wanted any of those cooters by night 2 or 3.

My take is this: every single person who stayed more than one day deserved what they got…as others have stated, once I saw how big of a disaster this was going to be, I would have been out of there…I don’t care how long I planned for it, I would have been gone.
