So do you want people to just blow SU's band? I don't get it. They're entertaining to watch, sure, but their actual sound isn't clean at all. Too heavy on the drums and trumpets.

Southerns band sounds terrible. But I guess you could like it if you like intonation issues and blatty brass sounds.

Not at all. But I guess it doesn't make sense to try to argue or converse about it. I just tried to shed light because I grew up getting the best of both worlds. Corps style bands like Ohio St and LSU but also getting to hear traditional bands like Southern and Jackson State. I said what I said to show you the accomplishments and accolades that Southern has received over the years because of their quality of sound not just show. Saying that they are terrible or awful is like saying Alabama is bad at football. It's just ignorant and uniformed.

I've played with Southern's band while I was with LSU's band. Can they make good sounds if they wanted to? Yes. Do they want to? No. They just want to blast as loud as they can. Trying to play the national anthem with them was hilarious.
