I love that Arty went from unranked to 28. That wasn't hard to see coming. Dude is goooood.

I have no problem with AVB being at the top just because he does a lot for the genre. I think he might be the hardest working man in EDM.

Tiesto should have been dropped further. So over that dude.

Sander Van Doorn should have been ranked higher.

Props to Avicii. Him and Arty and Sander are my absolute favs.

frick Skrillex.

Hardwell is for real.

Tommy Trash is another newcomer I love.

Sad to see Sasha go. Like that guy.

Nicky Romero and Alesso are also two I like.

I have a friend that loves Porter Robinson and Zedd, but I've yet been fully inundated.

That's all for now.

Serious as AIDS. You really think he's on Avicii's level? You really think he's on Sander's level?

I'll go track for track with you and let the audience decide.

Plus you respect AVB in your post. Tiesto is just as big of a pioneer and he has proven he can produce classics at every genre. Avicci and Hardwell are superstars but when Tiesto is cranking out equally good hits, he always gets the nod.

My respect for AVB is that he is basically the face of trance music. He has never changed that up and has kept chugging along and remained on top.

I'm not dissing on Tiesto because he went away from trance -- I actually prefer house to trance. I just think there are several other guys putting out better music than him. And putting out much more of it to boot.

And if I'm making the list, Avicii is numero uno. The DJ Top 100 isn't a lifetime achievement award, and Avicii put out the best EDM in 2012.

I must admit I'm old school. I bartended DJ Icey's birthday party that Micro threw for him in Dallas a few years back. I'm disheartened by the decline of America DJs on the world music scene (as a whole - a few have really stepped up, but not enough). I wish Deepsky never would have gone separate ways and BT was still relevant. Oh well... World moves on without those who don't keep up.

ETA:

spelling fix
