Picked up this 2004 Lester for about $1400 when covid19 broke out. There may be deals still out there to be had. At this price your usually looking a a headstock repaired specimen. Besides the patina on the hardware, if I told you I bought this new a year ago you’d believe me.

I was seriously considering one of the new Les Paul Standard 50s P90 Les Pauls last night. Crazy good guitar, but I wound up with a Custom Shop Strat instead. I will definitely own one in the future.

I wanted a Gibson, but already have a PRS Custom 24 and American Strat. With that, I compromised and got an ESP LTD. Had EVERY feature the Gibson had that I wanted, and it cost $750 compared to a few thousand.

I love that damn ESP. Ended up lifting the bridge a little to primarily use it for downtuning. I have 12s on there now and it is tuned to C Standard. Sounds glorious.

I have the 50’s Les Paul and it is fantastic. The only thing about the 50’s....the neck is FAT. I love it, but just something for you to consider if you’re not use to a baseball bat for a neck.

Get it!!!! Lol

I actually ordered it yesterday and someone named Ty called from Sweetwater this morning to go over any questions I had.

I've ordered stuff from them before, they have great customer service.

frick a modern Les Paul. They're not the same yet the price is ridiculous

Look for a 1990-1995

Or go 1958

Before you buy a new Gibson Les Paul, check out Eastman Guitars SB/59 and SB/57. They're modeled after the Les Paul. I bought one earlier this year to replace a Les Paul I regretted selling about 6 years ago. The Eastman guitars will blow you away. The one I have is superior in pretty much every way to the Les Paul I sold.

I have the SB57/n-BK. Here are the specs:

I have a '05 Classic that I love.

If I were buying a guitar today, though, it wouldn't be a Gibson. It'd be a PRS Custom 24 10-Top or an Ibanez J Custom

I would not recommend buying ANY guitar online.

Personally, I have to feel it in my hands before I know.

Case in point: Many, many years ago, I LUSTED for an Ibanez Iceman.

Yep, I saw Paul Stanley playing one and just KNEW I had to have one of these beasts.

Whelp, I finally got around to actually PLAYING one in a hip little used-to-be-a-house music store and it was fking AWFUL.....

I'm loving it. I've been playing it all weekend.

It's pristine in that there are no manufacturing tooling marks or blemishes, which from what I understand was a big problem with Gibsons a few years ago.

That Mustang was my first amp. I have since upgraded to a Fender 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb, but I still use the Mustang sometimes to play around with the built in effects.

I was just kidding with you. I said there’s no way this guy bought that guitar without a decent amp.

Youd be surprised. Line6 is the bane of amplification.

With Mesa, engl, peavey 5150, fortin out there..I hate when people skimp on the actual amplification.

I play a cheap fender hot rod deluxe

Granted, I leave it on the clean channel and have my pedals do the heavy lifting tonewise

Congrats on the Lester brother, it’s a man’s guitar. It’s fashionable to find any reason to hate on gibson, but glad you found an axe you can bond with. Not sure about the year model you bought but a pot/cap upgrade can go a long way. Definitely do that before considering anything else, if anything at all needs upgrading.
