I had a Kentucky KM 600 mandolin that was fun to play and sounded great. I would recommend the Kentucky brand of mandolins. Had to donate it a couple of years ago when I was moving.

Then finish watching him. Then get sad you'll never be that good, try the clarinet or something.

I've dabbled with Mandolin. If you already play guitar, its pretty easy to learn the basic chords and sound decent.

Get one, bro. My gf got one, but I play it more than she does. I love it. Best way to really learn is to learn chords obviously, but to also try and play along with songs. Such a beautiful, crisp sound. I play guitar so its pretty easy.
