These G&L Doheny V-12 guitars look awesome. Has anybody here tried one out?

I have no experience with a G&L Doheny V-12 so I cannot comment but do you think this EP ES335 Pro is worth getting on sale at $449? A hollow body is one of the missing piece to the collection but I cannot spend $2-4K on a guitar just to have it.

PS. I am not a fan of GC but will buy it from them at this price as Sweetwater has these at $649. Comments suggest play the actual guitar before buying as the quality varies and buying online site unseen is not preferred.

Always been a big fan of that particular guitar. G&L makes good stuff all around it seems. Jerry Cantrell is a notable G&L player.

Try them out. If you like the way it plays and feels, you can always spend a little upgrading wiring and pickups.
I had one of the Epiphone semi-hollow Wildcats. It was a great guitar, but not really the type of guitar for me.

Seems like the possibilities in sound are endless. Love that finish too.

I do too. Just noticed they have a goldtop too. This could well be my next guitar.

Just keep in mind a 335 isn't really a hollow body, it's a semi-hollow, which is actually a much different guitar. But as has been said, it only makes sense to play it to see if it's right for you. While you're there, check out something like an Epiphone Casino to see if a true hollowbody is what you're looking for.

That's beautiful. I think it needs a pearl pickguard though.

I went by the store, played it and its not for me. There is reason good guitar cost 1000's and not 100's. The feel/sound just wasn't right and therefore I wouldn't play it if I owed it. However, a higher end DeAngelo caught my eye though and I just have to save up....
