(Yes this is a movie but pertains more to the music board).
Has anyone seen this documentary which is now out in theaters? I really want to check it out. Curious to know if the soundtrack would warrant seeing it in theaters.
Any other Sparks fans here?

Never listened to them, but they inspired my all time favorite music review.
Somebody -- I wish I could remember who -- wrote the entry on them for The Rolling Stone Record Guide, briefly sketching their history and rating their various albums. The review concluded with this sentence:

"Docked one star per album for being partially responsible for Queen."

I was going to watch it. But Patton Oswalt's name in the credits was a deal breaker. That fricking guy shows up everywhere.

Whatched it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it! How could anyone not like Ron and Russell Mael? I literally knew nothing about them but you don't even need to. Such an interesting career told in a very entertaining way. Two very genuine guys who did what they loved musically and artistically, regardless of whether or not it fit into what was popular. Just a feel good story all around. Funny too!

I loved "cool places" back in the day, a song they did with Jane Weidiln of the Go Gos. If that song never existed, I would have never heard of Sparks
