For any Mats fans.. The new Ed Stasium mix is absolutely incredible and rights the wrongs of this record.. which was how terrible it sounded (though still my favorite of theirs).. This is kinda like listening to an entirely new record.. amazing!

Good assessment, sounds remarkably fresh when compared to the Tommy Ramone production.

This is my favorite of theirs, and never notices it.

Is there a best example on a song?

Its a cleaner sound but I don't think its necessarily better. The Replacements were never about having a clean sound, they were a sloppy garage band and this new mix betrays that. The new mix almost sounds artificial.

The whole thing... the drum sound is crap and a lot of the time you can barely hear Tommy's bass..

You can really some cool guitar interplay and backing vocals I've never heard before...

Id say listen to Little Mascara back to back...

That probably lends to their self sabotaging ways during those years... But they didnt like the mix either and whats there is what was on the tape.. they played it.. same with Dont Tell a Soul... That remix is very good too, but that album just never measured up to Tim in quality of songs...

For those of you who haven’t listened to the No Dogs in Space series on The Replacements, you should. It’s excellent.
