The part in Goodfellas when the second part of "Layla" stars playing

I watched Goodfellas the other day for the first time since I was a kid, and you know that part when the little kids playing stickball under the elevated train tracks curiously approach the pink Cadillac only to find two bloody dead bodies in it? Scorsese picked the second part of "Layla" to play there and over the rest of the montage of Jimmy hits. What if you were Scorsese? What song would you pick?
I'd go with the second part of "Badge" by Cream that starts at 1:08. LINK
It's darker. "Layla" is too sweet and romantic, and it's been bothering the shite about me. What do you Scorseses have?

I don't know, but that film has some of the best use of music ever:
-The Crystals "Then He Kissed Me" for the famous long shot
-Darlene Love "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" in the bar after the guy buys all the fancy stuff
-"Monkey Man"
-"Jump into the Fire" and especially "What is Life?" for the cocaine day

"What Is Life" made me so happy. Scorsese has such a good musical ear. He and Tarantino have a real knack for musical placement.

It's hard to think of anything but Layla in that spot. I also love Creams Sunshine of Your Love when Jimmy decides to whack Morrie.

One thing that confused me about that movie is when the narrator says "Morrie never knew how close he came to getting whacked that night".
Morrie DID get whacked that night.

Can't hear 'Layla' now without thinking of Goodfellas litany of Conway corpses.
Crystals 'Then He Kissed Me' with Henry and Karen's kitchen entrance mazing into Copacabana via running scene is movie magic.
Bennett's 'Rags to Riches' movie intro, Stones 'Monkey Man' for coked Henry, Sid Vicious ' My Way' cover to end it..all are excellent.
