considering how small the attendance would be.

I agree, but its still stupid expensive to get to Hawaii.
It just doesnt seem to fit with what they have been doing since they came back.

The festivals are a ton of work. Dont think they could make any money considering how small the attendance would be
A bunch of other bands do island getaways year after year, so there has to be some sort of fiscal gain.
Examples: WSP en Playa, Govt Mule Island Exodus, Bisco Holidaze, Little Feat is somewhere in the Carribean right now

About $1200 roundtrip from NO

Those arent phish festivals though.
I could see them doing a 3-4 night run somewhere tropical. But that would be them showing up and playing on already built infrastructure.

Id bet on them renting a stage from a production company in Hawaii. Not sure about CK5s rig.

There is a phish summer tour thread, and one about the announcement yesterday you could discuss in. Or start a new thread.
Just would like to keep this thread about the fest and not get cluttered up with pages and pages of phish.
Thank you.

I think a Japan fall tour is way more likely

There is an interesting new acoustic show posted for Friday May 2nd at Nola Brewery billed as Papa Mali and Friends featuring Anders Osborne. The band will consist of Papa Mali, Anders Osborne, Billy Iuso, Tony Leone and Mike Dillon. This will be an intimate show in a room that holds no more than 300 people. Shaggy, the Nola Crawfish King ,will also be boiling crawfish during the show. If you're interested in this show I wouldn't wait for the last second because of the scarcity of tickets. Check out the Second Weekend tab for more information and ticket links.

Is there a day during the festival when Anders isnt going to be playing?
Posted on 3/12/14 at 10:43 am to TreyAnastasio
Haha I am not too sure if there is, I could easily see him 5 or 6 times over the two weeks if I wanted to.

This show is a possibility for me, but mostly because im friends with the nola dudes and its fun to hang out with them and eat crawfish.

I like to take a serious look at any show which features crawfish.
