Let's say you're leaving behind a list of 100-150 songs in a time capsule to be opened in the year 2100. Which songs would have to be in there to best describes the music of the era?

You can list 1 or 20, maybe we'll remind each other of a few we've forgotten

ZZ Top- Tush
Deep Purple- Woman From Tokyo
Edgar Winter Group- Free Ride
James Gang- Funk #49
Rick Derringer- Rock & Roll Hoochie Coo

Those first Cars and Police albums were just heralding the coming decade. Those were released in those overlap years where the Seventies slowly morphed into the Eighties. Both of those bands are so identified with the Eighties it is hard to believe that they even released anything in the Seventies.
