I wouldn't call these "hard hitters", due to the fact that we may have different interpretations of what hard is, but these lines definitely made Nas son Jay.

Prob the only decent line. The effect is almost ruined, though, b/c it's the third time he has to reference BIG in the verse. Guy was running out of material in the first song.

Jay sold drugs, robbed, was robbed. Nothing major or anything but a lot of people have corroborated this story. No one believes Jay was running a huge coke ring in Marcy or that he transports keys now, but there's a kernel of truth to what he rhymes a/b and it isn't farfetched for him to put himself in the first person perspective in these songs (the way it is for someone like Rick Ross, or in this case, Nas).

What blah blah money lines? The only reason he brings up money is to discuss how he donates it to causes, especially in NYC. And how Nas raps a/b the poor, etc but never puts his own money where his mouth is: he never offers to help his old hood like Jay does now that he's wealthy. And yet Jay is the one who, in the press, is unfairly maligned as not being "serious" and being overly commercial.
His other point is that Nas is a hypocrite for playing the role of conscious rap artist when he's also down to cut a goofy radio friendly single like Oochie Wally. So which is it? Because at the time Nas had held himself out as the avatar for serious rap artists. But he can't take shots at people for making commercial rap when he tried to jump on the gravy train, too.

Side note MCHG is his best album since The Black Album. Best song-frickwithmeyouknowigotit, jayzblue,crown. La familia was good too.
