The lyrics to Born Under Punches

David Byrne is a genius. The lyrics are creepy and probably weren’t written with any specific meaning in mind, but it is eerie how much that song sounds like it was made for these times. In fact, Remain in Light sounds like it could have been made today.

Remain in Light is an awesome album and passes the acid test. Adrian Belew’s contribution can’t be overlooked.
I saw Phish cover the album as their “musical costume” in Atlanta on Halloween 1996. They nailed it.

quote:Wife and I had just gotten into Phish after Jazz Fest and wife did mail order for her older brother, who had been into Phish for several years. We got Halloween and he got Gainesville. We traded with him because we didn't know any better :) Looking back on it, probably missed the best Halloween set.

Upside - he did get me into Phish :)

Remain in the light is one of my all time favorites from start to finish. All the poly-rythmic work is ahead of its time. Makes Fela proud!
