Joe Walsh was better in the James Gang. The Eagles are beneath him.

Joe Walsh was good in the James Gang ... saw them live... but Eagles were a much better band. I don't like hearing his songs during an Eagle concert. I mean where were the other members of the James Gang the past 25 years +?

Hate that I missed it ... if you notice a replay, repost.

I took live video of Hotel California about a year before Glen Frey died... and some other bits and pieces.

Great band ... saw them three times ...but The Beatles were clearly the best band of all-time. It is The Beatles, then everybody else.

The Eagles threads are some of my favorites. It doesn’t take long to tell who the musicians are and who the dabblers/listeners are.

The number of bands left today that could accurately sing and perform the harmonies alone would be minuscule. Not to mention the lead players that could perform solos to the level of Felder and Walsh.

Regardless of what you think of the material (lots of it I don’t care for), their musicianship, with the exception of Henley’s drumming, was off the charts.

Certainly not arguing but I always wonder, what is the criteria individuals use to determine the talent of a band. For me it goes as such
Songwriting
Musicianship
Albums sold
Impact on future generations
Staying power.

I don't know who it is but I know whoever it is Chris Berman isn't introducing them.

Don Henley was a solid drummer. Nothing spectacular by any means, but solid.

They used to have a girl singer that would perform with them sometimes. Kind of cute. Linda something or other. I wonder whatever happened to her.

Just watched him, at 70+, sing "One of These Nights" while drumming. Didn't miss a beat.

I bet he wouldn't stay in time if you told him you posted a reaction video to Hotel California on YouTube.

No music on MTV.

Very little history on the History Channel.

The Eagles on ESPN2.

I wonder how long it takes the crew to set up the stage and all of the wiring & lighting?

How original

Maybe it wouldn't be such a common opinion if the Eagles weren't so overplayed. I was born around the same time that they formed as a band and have heard enough of their songs to last me a lifetime. At this point, it's not even the Eagles....it's Don Henley "and friends".

Absolutely! But I think the Eagles are in the top 5.
