I'm sure I will be the recipient of grief over this but Trent Reznor is just not the same musician he once was anymore.
I can't even listen to the "music" he creates these days which is very saddening.
Pretty Hate Machine was an absolute beast of an album and "Hurt" is one of the most powerful songs of all time.
I wish someone could explain to me what has happened to Trent along the way with because it sucks.

Sobriety and marriage will change a man. Inevitably, that change will be reflected in his work. I respect the metamorphosis just as much as I respect the artist. While his newer projects are unlike what I've come to enjoy in the past, I appreciate them because they are his. I don't expect any artist to be able to avoid an evolution over the course of almost 25 years and have them still enjoy what they do. I applaud him for being able to make the choices he has made.

NIN is the best band of all time IMO.

I have really enjoyed How to Destroy Angels. I still need to buy the one that came out last week, but I appreciate all music that Trent decides to share with us, either for free or very little money.

While I think TDS and The Fragile are his best work, I still think he has kept his integrity and puts out quality music. I enjoyed his scores for The Social Network and TGWTDT. I also liked Year Zero a lot and The Slip wasn't bad.

I agree. He hasn't made anything good since The Fragile. With Teeth is awful and I pretty much dropped him after that. Year One was ok but not enough to bring me back.

Most people I know, even fans, hate with teeth, I happen to love it.

Love is not enough
Everyday is exactly the same (one of the best synth lives ever)

The line begins to blur (so many layers of awesome)
Beside you in time
Right where it belongs
Home (one of the best NIN songs ever)
If you don't like those then I truly don't get it, classic NIN.
Most people get burned by him singing "witha teetha" and dismiss the entire album. I love all the NIN albums, to me they are a each their own entity and each one chronicles a specific period in my life, as I can truly relate to 90% of his lyrics.
I respect your opinion though, just giving my thoughts.

Yea I meant to list it i just pulled all those out my head. Sunspots is one of my favorites on the album, I love the guitar riff and drums (Dave grohl)
One thing about all Trent's work is that he is a hell of a drum programmer, he has some of the sickest sounding beats ever made with great synth and bass lines
