"The Dead South" is incredible...

Hit up Youtube and I watched Jason Isbell's live show at House of Blues Boston, as I am wont to do, and their live show happened to come on next. It was one of those Bob Ross "happy accidents", as I'd never heard of them previously.
LINK
It's absolutely fantastic. I searched TD and no one has really spoken of them in 2+ years, and the old threads were sparse.
I cannot recommend them enough. But there is some bad news: the ever-smiling, extremely huggable Hispanic looking fella was accused of "sexual misconduct". No more information than that is readily available. Whether legitimate or not, the entire band not only disowned him, but they apologized for their (very good) song about cousins consensually fricking (it plays towards the end of the linked video). As if that has anything to do with actual sexual assault (theoretically).
Regardless of all the tomfoolery, I cannot recommend them enough. Their song "In Hell I'll Be in Good Company" (begins right at 1hr2m) is incredible. The previously linked video may very well be the band at the top of their game, and it happened to be recorded a few weeks before litrally everything got shut down.

Their ep and first two albums are really strong, third album not as much. Saw them in Jan in Atlanta 2020.
You should check out The Devil Makes Three, Poor Man’s Poison and Trampled by Turtles. Basically they are just alt bluegrass.

I'm familiar with Turtles and like them a lot, but I think that Dead South is on another level. Will check out the other two. I'm sure that you know about them given the lead singer's solo success, but the SteelDrivers are the tits.
