Yep it was a great Music scene back in the day…..
However music today is HORRIBLE….there is no guitar in music anymore and rock and roll has died …..

Yep, you can actually dig deep enough to find really bad guitar driven music that sounds like a straight rip-off of better stuff from 40 and 50 years ago...although most music is straight up pro-tools garbage.

I saw lot's of good bands back then. Fat City clubs, Jimmy's was a personal fav...The Cold on the President was always a treat. The Producers were in town a lot.

Zebra, Persia, 24K, Razor White, Axe for some heavier stuff. Now, locally I catch a band at the Varsity, or spend a night in New Orleans to catch a show at the H.O.B.

The Producers were from Atlanta, but played a ton around NO. Saw some "interesting" acts at Andy Capp's. Saw the Shieks at a tiny dive in La Place.

I was on the quad events committee at Loyola mid 80s we tried for three years to get the producers and they kept having to cancel. Finally got them to play and it was a throw down... will never forget how much fun we had
