Orr is constantly looking down at his fretboard while singing the song. Ok, I feel better now. Sometimes watching live performances can give you a boost.

You're not going to look as cool as Benjamin Orr, baw. Hate to break it to you.

Ben Orr, without a doubt.
Drive is one of the best songs ever, and it's because of his vocal...

The Cars are a ridiculously good band.

Pure genius.

You can make a case that the Cars were ground zero for how 80s music sounds.

One of the first rock bonds to heavily introduce the synthesizer sound.

The Cars and The Ramones are the two bands most responsible for opening my eyes/ears in the mid 80s. Access to music back then was just terrible. I actually had to backtrack on both The Cars and The Police because radio did a terrible job on both Bands' earlier( and much better) albums. I probably never heard the Police until Don't Stand and The cars until Shake It Up. I would have never heard The Ramones if it were not a random party I ended up at from a different high school.

This is a great post. I was lucky enough to see the Ramones at least 5 times from ‘78-80 along with the Clash and many other punk bands. The Fabulous Poodles were the first New Wave band I saw live and it was fun watching music morph from punk to new wave. The first 20 seconds of Let the Good Times Roll ripped the lid off and the Cars truly put the wave in new wave.
