This song came on my Spotify discover playlist and at the time I wasn’t paying attention to who was singing it, I just loved it instantly. I was shocked to see it was the Monkees.

That's a pleasant enough song (if terribly produced/arranged), but it's hardly comparable to their golden age stuff
FWIW this is the favorite Monkees track of co-creator Bob Rafelson, (who later directed Five Easy Pieces).

I got the vibe that they were going for an underproduced sound on this one in their old age. I liked it.

The whole album was a surprise and a very pleasant one at that.
Edit to add: Mike Nesmith has a very underrated voice. Most of his songs are interesting because of it.

Hey Shark... Check out this concert of the Mickey and the song's writer Ben Gibbard preforming it and "Here Comes Tommorrow".
Both are excellent! Then some more songs directly after it.

That’s from the “Good Times!” album which includes songs written by Ben Gibbard from Death Cab for Cutie, Rivera Cuomo from Weezer, Noel Gallagher from Oasis, Paul Weller from The Jam, Carol King, and Harry Nilsson.
Hard not to have some good songs on there
