What is a decent price for this guitar? A fella I know wants to sell his. I want to buy it,but also don’t want to take it in the arse.

They're about a grand new if I remember. How old is this one and what kind of shape is it in?

$700.

But, do yourself a favor. Check out a Guild before you decide on a Taylor.

For $900 you can get a great guitar with solid wood top, back, and sides that sounds way better than a 200 Series Koa-laminated Taylor.

If there's not a dealer near you, you can order in online and return it if you don't like it.

I've got and have had many guitars including Martins, Gibsons, Taylors, and others. My Guild D-55 will play any of them under the table. Guilds are excellently priced, high quality (sound and build), and are the best deal out there.
