Story of a wayward telecaster:

Several years ago I saw it in a pawn shop. The control plate was hanging off and it had some cut wiring. It had a fender decal on the headstock, 22 fret maple fretboard with a skunk stripe on the back of the neck, it had a squire neckplate but, the neck felt thicker, no serial #. Butterscotch finish, good shape, black pickguard, string through body, recessed out jack. Looked like a classic vibe, but the neck and saddles were wrong. The tag said it had a hard case, they wanted 150 bucks for it. I asked to see the case, and it had a decent molded plastic fender case. I offered them 100 bucks and they took it.
I took it home and it sat around a few days, then I fixed the wiring and stuck a white pearl pick guard on it, new strings, it looked really great. I never plugged it in though. A friend of ours and her boyfriend came by. He saw the guitar and wanted it. I told him I would take 200 bucks for it. He said he would pay me the next week and took it with him, w/o the case. Him and her fell out, and I never saw him again. I forgot all about it.
Yesterday, she came by and had the telly with her. It had been in her closet all that time, probably 4 years. It was dusty but still almost in tune.
I just now cleaned it up and plugged it in. This thing plays and sounds fantastic. I have no idea what these pick ups are, but they sound great. This is probably going to be one of my favorite guitars
Sorry, I'm trying to post these photos, but I can't get it to work. "Old guy on a computer", that's me, like a modern day Green Acres in reverse.

Now that you are more seasoned and mature, and probably better internet data. Can you tell what it is? Partscaster of some sort?

Yeah, it's a partscaster, but put together very well. Good stuff on it. no sizzles or buzzes in the controls. The set up is really good. It looks beautiful too. When my wife gets up I'll try to add some photos... Of the guitar.
It's got 2 string trees on the headstock. Don't think I've ever seen that before that I remember.

Good job. Nip the rumors in the bud.

I'd be interested to see this.
BTW, I've got a song idea. Ok if I ring you up?

Yep, give me a call. will have to try to upload those photos later. Wife had plans this morning.
Call the number from that last email. I don't have a cell phone anymore.
By the way, is that Nashville telly still playing good for you? I kind of wish I had it back sometimes.

Just sent you a couple of emails with my # and a new song I did the other day, it's a rough recording, but a decent song I think.

Awesome. That’s the beauty of the telecaster.
